Pablo Picasso

Pablo Ruiz Picasso (Malaga 1881 – Mougins 1973) was a Spanish painter, sculptor, ceramicist, who spent most of his life in France. Symbol of XX° century, he was the leader, together with his friend George Braque of the Cubism. In his artworks, unusual and creative, the influence of different art movements of the XX° century, such as Surrealism, Expressionism, Neo-Classicism. He is considered one the Master of the Modern Art.
Awards: Carnegie Prize (1930), Honorary curator of Prado Museum in Madrid (1936), Silver Medal of French Gratitude from France (1948), Pennell Memorial Medal from Philadelphia Academy of Fine Arts, for lithograph "The Dove of Peace" (1949), Lenin Peace Prize from Soviet Union (1950 and 1962).
