Georges Braque
Georges Braque (Argenteuil 1882 – Paris 1963) was a French painter, printmaker and sculptor. Previously he were in alliance with Fauvism, influenced by Henri Matisse. After he broke up with the traditional vision of aesthetics. Braque started working with geometrics and three-dimensional objects, recomposing them. He is co-founder with Pablo Picasso of the Cubism.
Awards: Carnegie Prize (1937), Grand Prize Venice Biennale (1948), Commander of the Legion of Honour (1951), Prize Antonio Feltrinelli from Academy of San Luca, Rome (1959).
